To rescue, nurture, and empower abandoned children and vulnerable teenage
mothers in Uganda, building pathways to lasting independence.
A world where no child is forgotten — and every mother has the tools to thrive.
JIRA Angels Network is deeply committed to reducing the number of abandoned children in Uganda by focusing on empowering teenage mothers. By supporting these young mothers in relevant fields that enable them to lead sustainable lifestyles, we ensure both mother and child have a chance to thrive.
The organization’s primary focus is to extend care to abandoned newborn babies who are often found in dire situations, such as garbage pits, pit latrines, playgrounds and roadsides. These children are typically rescued by the police or concerned individuals who lack the means to care for them and, thus, reach out to Jira Angels Network for support. The babies in our care aged 0 to 6 years, currently 10. Due to limited resources and capacity, we are unable to support all children in need, which is a challenging aspect of our work..
