At JIRA Angels Network (JAN), we believe that education is not a privilege—it is a fundamental right. The Education for All program is our commitment to ensuring that every school-age child, especially the most vulnerable, has access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education.
Program Objective:
To provide holistic educational support for abandoned, orphaned, and disadvantaged children by collaborating with local schools, institutions, and community stakeholders. Our goal is to remove barriers and build opportunities that lead to lifelong learning and personal development.
Key Focus Areas:
- School Enrollment and Retention:
- Identifying out-of-school children and facilitating their enrollment in nearby schools.
- Providing scholastic materials such as books, uniforms, stationery, and school bags.
- Supporting school meals and transportation where necessary to reduce absenteeism and drop-out rates.
- Educational Partnerships:
- Partnering with local primary and secondary schools to create child-friendly, inclusive learning environments.
- Working with district education offices and NGOs to improve access and quality of education.
- Establishing referral systems for children needing special educational interventions or psycho-social support.
- Academic Enrichment:
- Organizing after-school programs and tutoring for children who need extra academic help.
- Encouraging reading through mobile libraries, book drives, and storytelling activities.
- Promoting digital literacy and basic computer skills through community-based ICT centers.
- Advocacy and Community Sensitization:
- Conducting awareness campaigns on the importance of education, especially for girls and children with disabilities.
- Engaging parents, guardians, and caregivers to support children’s education through dialogue and training.
- Working with local leaders to eliminate harmful practices like child labor, early marriage, and neglect that hinder school attendance.
- Empowering Educators:
- Providing capacity-building workshops for teachers on child protection, trauma-informed teaching, and inclusive education.
- Supplying teaching aids and resources to improve classroom instruction.
